NEW BUSINESS:

Rabies Clinic – Ms. Carlson stated that Fredon Township has been doing one rabies clinic a year since 2020, usually in November. Due to Covid, Fredon Township implemented a “drive thru” format in 2020. The result was well received by everyone, and we have continued to use the same drive thru format since then. Rabies Clinics will continue to be announced in the Township newsletter and on our website.

Pet Microchipping - Low cost microchipping was added on a trial basis at our 2022 rabies clinic. Ms. Jessica Vollero coordinated the microchipping part of the clinic. The proceeds from the microchipping were deposited into the Fredon Feral Cat Fund to help support our trap/neuter/release program. We plan to offer the microchipping at future rabies clinics.

Hunts Pond Road Feral Colony – A previous issue regarding a feral colony on Hunts Pond Road was discussed. Ms. Vollero stated that the former owner moved and left some of the feral cats. Ms. Vollero was able to rescue several cats that were left behind. The feral colony issues appear to be resolved at this time.
