FREDON TOWNSHIP RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES

OCTOBER 18, 2023

This meeting is in compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act, Public Law 1975, Chapter 231, Sections 4 and 13 as advertised by public notice.

This meeting of the Fredon Recreation Commission was called to order by Chairman Olsen at 7:05pm.

ROLL CALL- Arne Olson, Melissa Deitz, Gail Kinney, Bob Wilson, Christine Power, and George Plock (Township Liaison)

ABSENT- Kristie Olson, Isiah Brown, and Carole Zaret

None to report.

DISCUSSION ITEMS

• Trunk or Treat
  • Breakdown of prizes and events
  • Windy Brow order of refreshments for event.
• Lodestar Park Maintenance
  • Township DPW- Ladies restroom sinks in need of repair
  • Follow up with Township Clerk about pair of new baby swings.
  • New Oven was purchased.
  • Members were pleased with the cleanup done by Fredon DPW and volunteers.
• Civic Center
  • Discussed Roof Issue
  • Improve method of approving applications
• Membership
  • New roles within the Commission. Melissa Deitz- Chairperson, Arne Olson- Vice Chair. Gail Kinney and Kristie Olson- stepping down
  • New members still needed.

NEW BUSINESS

• Buy Gaga pit for Fredon Day (Discussion tabled until next meeting)

OLD BUSINESS

• Attendants still needed for Civic Center
  • Additional attendants still needed. Will post on township website.
